Olympic Torch Tomorrow
Tuesday. Lunch today with Ms. V at a new Chinese restaurant in downtown Oakland that was quite good. A fine way to start the day as I awoke around eight, got up to feed Ms. Emmy (she let's me know there's no away around that), and then went back to sleep getting up again at ten. That having gotten to bed around eleven last night. Not sure why so many hours, but no complaints. The day is bright, the air crisp, the head clear and the photographs I promised to the Dykes on Bikes Exhibition in Palo Alto are in the mail. The pictures are in the mail. “The check is in the mail.” Well. Really. It is. They are.

What's that about?

There was one I couldn't find. I have it here somewhere and I will find it, but I promised I'd find it today and I haven't found it yet. Best, perhaps, not to promise with your mouth what your ass may not deliver. Still, one of the Dykes on Bikes artandlife pages was moved to Rien's new design in producing these images (rescanning and everything to do the job as it should have been done in the first place). This is good. Only about fourteen million-billion more pages to go (phew!) before they're finished, but we're certainly up for it here in Oakland, let me tell you!

Where'd that come from?

You pull things out of many places when you're keeping an online journal. You don't want to know more than that.

Tomorrow the Olympic torch comes through San Francisco and I believe I'll BART on over and take pictures. This retirement business is picking up, don't you think?

The photograph was taken at the San Francisco 2006 Cherry Blossom Festival Parade with a Nikon D2X mounted with a 70 - 200mm f 2.8 Nikkor VR lens at 1/500th second, f 2.8, ISO 100.
