Just Rushing By
Wednesday. Alright, here we are, Wednesday morning having gotten a good night's sleep, having returned from breakfast at the usual place where I read the papers, where I walked rather than drove (one is tempted to drive, I'm afraid, something I'd do more often if they didn't charge for parking), sitting here now thinking of getting ready to go downtown to have lunch with Ms. V. Not bad, not bad at all: the attitude good, thinking in terms of doing this or doing that, addressing one of the tasks that have been on my “this and that” list since the beginning of time without digging in my heels or carping (the beginning of time is any date more than six months past). Is that comprehensible? It is to me.

Later. A good lunch with Ms. V at the new sushi restaurant that sat empty for so long saying it was “about to open at any moment”. It sat for what must have been a year “about to open at any moment”. Breads of India did the same thing. I wonder what causes all the delay in opening a restaurant in Oakland? It was quite good and the prices reasonable. Worth the wait.

I watched the third and fourth DVD of The Wire yesterday with the fifth and final DVD due to arrive from Netflix this afternoon. It didn't quite thrill me the same way the first series did, but it was still very good and I'm looking forward to beginning the third season when it starts arriving on Friday. Life in the fast lane, the breeze just rushing by, as I sit here in front of the computer.
