Into The Evening
Saturday. I watched Atlantic Records - The House Ahmet Built on DVD this afternoon that documented the life of Ahmet Ertegun and the history of Atlantic Records, music that covers much of my musical tastes from about the mid-fifties through the very early eighties, from my teenage years to the age of thirty-eight or thirty-nine when I moved out of San Francisco to work in the wine business. I still have the old Atlantic 45's and l.p.'s, music that provided the background for a good part of my life. Every time I hear that music it brings back memories, memories that are often sad. I'm not sure why. Memories that are sad. I still play them, but rarely now and maybe for that reason. Watching the movie has had me feeling melancholy for most of the afternoon and well into the evening.
