He Said
Friday. Raining when I awoke and got up some fifteen minutes after the alarm, still raining when I returned from breakfast. Unless it clears up later it looks like there will be few pictures this day, maybe futz around here inside with the strobe lights. But after a morning nap. Feel fine, but after but six hours of sleep last night I'm suspecting there will be pay back. We often suspect payback, even when we're not sure for what.

A bit paranoid, don't you think?

You'd be too if you were paying attention.

Later. And indeed an hour or so of lying down in a fog, up feeling better once all the organs had completed restart. A walk outside seeing it had stopped raining (sweater, winter jacket) to find a single scoop loader working on the construction site, moving earth away from the area nearest my street. And so pictures.

A walk over to the lake. Nothing happening at the lake. Dark, overcast, looked like it could rain at any moment and so back to the apartment to check the Grand Lake theater schedule, see if the new Johnny Depp movie Transcendence was starting any time soon. Ah, twelve forty-five. When's the last time I've gone to a movie? Can't remember. Maybe something to eat and then take it in?

Later still. Skipped lunch, but went to the movie (overpriced peanut M&M's from the concession stand for lunch). Interesting idea to explore, but less wonderful in its execution, didn't believe it for a second. Still, some unpleasant thoughts as to what the rest of this century might be like, big computer in charge, global warming aside. Things have been indeed changing. I suspect this century will be quite a trip. These last seventy years have certainly shown us change, but nothing like what's coming given the warm up we've seen over these last twenty years.

Babble, babble.

Well, yes. Maybe feeling a little high after the movie, although I left just before it ended. Two minutes before? Five? Not sure why. I'm sure another nap will take care of that.

Evening. So a New Tricks at seven, nothing to write home about, nothing I wanted to sit through at eight, a Death In Paradise at nine. And then to bed. Really. A good long night's sleep. He said.

The photo up top was taken at the San Francisco Cherry Blossom Festival Parade with a Nikon D4s mounted with an 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
