More Sleep
Thursday. I did get a good start on that book last night and still managed lights out by ten, although I then spent a long night counting hours on the clock. Still awoke wide awake a good half hour before the alarm was set to get up, get ready and get out the door to breakfast, camera in hand. Felt pretty good for all that.
Feeling pretty good resulted in a couple of pictures as I was walking, nothing to write home about (other than here), but again, a marginal awareness of the surroundings at least.
My usual waitress had yesterday off so I asked her how she was doing and learned she was six and a half months pregnant and had been having some problems sleeping. Nothing unusual (I'm assuming), but in another less than three months she'll be busy with more important matters than breakfast. Hmm. Change. Good for her and so I certainly won't fret, but we're more aware of our lack of interest in changes to our routine these days so we'll see how this will play out.
Figure one of these days they'll find a way to double everybody's rent in this heated market, losing your waitress in comparison won't seem such a big event.
Ah, well. We do like spinning our wheels here.
Later. Kind of a funky hour there, no so much for being tired as a dry mouth and funky head, but it passed and so on to the apartment house construction site photographs to finish and post them to HereInOakland. We'll do the needed conversion later for artandlife. Which means February is done and we'll take a look at March, but tomorrow. This day is over for photographs and web stuff.
The computer mouse I've been using now for years failed on me today, a first time for that, failing in the sense I finally figured out the mouse was the cause of an ongoing problem. I'd tested it some time ago by substituting a known good mouse (with the background in IT you have all kinds of spares lying around) and I thought at the time it hadn't solved the issue, but today I repeated the experiment and the problem went away. Idiot I. Should have caught this long ago. Another, what: memory glitch or just plain stupidity? Hard to say. For me, anyway.
Evening. Sleep tonight. More of Mr. Jamieson's book, but then lights out and sleep. Please. The day has been uneven, not a bad day, in some ways more ambitious that usual, but I suspect it would have been stellar with more sleep.
