To Sleep

Thursday. Lights out around ten, but a long night then of repeatedly awakening to glance at the clock every two hours or so, finally awakening at six-twenty. Felt good, not tired, but wondered about awakening so often straight through an evening and how that affects the day to come.

Whatever. Up and out the door to breakfast on an overcast morning, they're saying some chance of rain tomorrow before the weekend, but a sunny weekend for Earth Day photographs. So let it rain as much as it wants before then.

Later. Put together a thumb drive with a set of the Latham Square photographs to deliver to the Civil Engineer at the Oakland Public Works Agency who'd requested them yesterday, getting on the downtown bus at eleven-thirty and getting off at Latham Square to take another set of photographs. I was going to be there to deliver the drive, might as well take pictures.

The thumb drive delivered, a walk to the City Center for a chicken Caesar salad at the bagel shop to kill time until the next bus. And because I was hungry. I do, now and again, get hungry.

Walking to the bus stop I passed by these three tables set up on the Broadway sidewalk. I seem to recall reading something about this “bee” business, but had and have no idea what they're about. Still, interesting enough for a photograph, not interesting enough to look it up.

Home now to work on the photographs and dink around with this and that.

Evening. Watched Charlie Rose and their discussion of the passing of Prince at the age of fifty-seven followed by an discussion on American policy in the Middle East. Put me in a mood to go right to sleep.

The photo up top was taken Sunday at the forming up for the Cherry Blossom Festival Parade in San Francisco with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
