Afternoon

Friday. I was tired and so lights out not long after nine to awaken twice during the night, but briefly, and awaken for good at five minutes to six. A little early and indeed the East Bay Times hadn't arrived by the time I set out at six-thirty, but a decent mood and a decent walk to breakfast on another overcast and cool (but not cold) morning. They're saying sun later this afternoon. Let's hope they're right.

The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, no interest in having anything fried, but what the hell? It was good. No complaints.

The walk home taking the usual couple of pictures along the way and continuing to wonder at the no parking signs they've had posted now for some time along my route. The bus stops are posted as well, saying no buses until after eleven tomorrow morning, checking it on the web when I got home. The Oakland Half Marathon tomorrow. Why hadn't I known?

Later. Messed around not particularly productively until early afternoon and then gave in and set out to wherever I might end up, walking along the lake to find a film/video crew of some kind shooting whatever at the pergola and then on to the bagel shop on Lakeshore thinking I could probably get down a yogurt cup and coffee. They had one left, but no tables available out front and so back to the apartment, stopping at the café near the fitness center for an ice cream cone and coffee. We did at least get in the coffee.

Warm out there in a long sleeve shirt and light jacket, should have left the jacket, and by the time I got home I could easily have lost the long sleeved shirt for comfort. Watching the news at the moment.

Evening. Tired enough to take an hour and a half's nap, actual sleep, at four-thirty this afternoon, doing nothing much otherwise than watching old Law & Order episodes and futzing occasionally at the computer. A first for such a long nap so late in an afternoon.

Checked out Charlie Rose at eight, decided I wasn't interested and so early to bed. Be interesting to see how this night goes after such a long nap this afternoon.

The photo up top was taken at the Nihonmachi Street Fair Saturday with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
