Thinking

Monday. Skipped out at ten-thirty on the episode of Endeavour I was watching last night, the culprit finally identified, but the young Mr. Morse not yet out of danger, but it was late and I wanted to get up at a decent time in the morning. I figured the young Mr. Morse would prevail and bring the fellow to justice.

Awake just like that at three minutes to six to get up, get ready and head to breakfast, the sky overcast and not boding well for clearer skies later for the (in our case) partial eclipse after ten. I haven't had any thoughts to try to photograph it, but I might walk down by the lake to see how the light changes under a partial eclipse.

The walk to breakfast to have the plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee, no thought to eat anything more adventuresome. Tastes good. The walk home along Grand passing by a bicycle tethered to one of the stands near a vandalized bike that has been sitting there since forever. Did someone leave it overnight? Taking chances? Still a picture and then snapped another at the base of Lakeview School. In other words, the usual.

Nothing on the schedule today other than the partial eclipse with no plans for that. A haircut tomorrow and then another blood thinner test at the lab on Wednesday. The weekends are at least booked with various festivals and parades for the while, one of the nicer aspects of living in this area for a photographer.

Later. Ah, the partial eclipse was due here not long after nine. Totally overcast, of course, couldn't see anything through the sliding glass balcony door that indicated a diminution in light.

So a walk over to the lake and then on to the ATM on Lakeshore, thinking maybe eating one of the yogurt cups at the bagel shop on the way back, but no yogurt cups in their display case and so on back home without a stop. Hungry but not hungry. Confusing, but that now seems to be the norm.

Later still. Took a nap for about an hour, remembering I'd gotten to bed well after ten last night, in between processing what pictures seemed worthwhile from Art & Soul without coming up with enough for a web section. Still, got them done, maybe look at them again one last time later, but not enough is still not enough.

Evening. Listened to the president's speech, his direction on Afghanistan evidently no different than what we've had so far. Who knows? You can always hope. Stumbled through an episode of Father Brown that started at seven, corny beyond redemption, and started watching the Ms. Marple episode that followed which I suspect was better, although I left for bed after about ten minutes. Enough excitement for one day was the thinking if, this late in a day, you can call any of this thinking.

The photo up top was taken at the Oakland Art & Soul Festival yesterday with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
