Interest

Tuesday. Both Facebook and Chrome have been bombing on the tablet lately, bouncing you out of the program if the page takes too long to load and so put the tablet away and listened to the Texas hurricane news on the radio before turning the lights out last night before ten. I think. Whenever it was, it wasn't particularly late.

Awoke at eight minutes to six, giving me time to get up, grab the electric razor and take the morning meds before the five minute KPFA news started, taking my time getting ready before heading out to breakfast on an overcast morning with all three papers in tow, the weather people saying cooler today before it heats up again tomorrow as it heads into a warmer three day weekend.

Had the avocado and (light on the) cheese omelet, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee over the papers, the sky still every bit as overcast while walking home. Took a little more time to photograph the somewhat crushed looking pandorea flower, but it was still out of focus and overexposed. Hmm. Maybe try a different lens tomorrow. The other photographs seemed to be intact. Why they and not it?

I've been debating doing the laundry and now we're at the point of decision and I'm still not sure where I should place my bet. Yes? No?

Later. Yes. The laundry is well under way, the first two loads in the drier, the third and last load downstairs, waiting its turn in its basket.

Later still. A walk to the Lakeshore ATM, checking the bagel shop on the way back to see if they had any of their yogurt mix cups in stock. They didn't and so on to the apartment, stopping by the lake to sit and rest for a bit in the sun.

They were drilling a hole at two locations in the parking lot below my hill as I was passing by them this morning and so had taken a picture. Have no idea what their purpose may be, as, when they were finished, they'd sealed them with plugs. I'm assuming to protect them until they insert whatever they're there to receive. Curious. They have a permit to build an apartment house on the site at some point, maybe this is related? Does it really matter?

Listened to news for the rest of the afternoon, folded the socks washed earlier and did the usual web surfing before heading out again to pick up an ice cream bar, bean dip and Doritos at the 7-11 look-alike. The three food groups required for our continued good health.

Evening. Listened to Democracy Now! (what else, more news about Harvey and Houston) before retiring to bed and the tablet. Did get up at eight to check out Charlie Rose, but bailed when it turned out to be another summer rerun, interviews this time with musicians in whom I have no interest.

The photo up top was taken Saturday at the Oakland Chinatown StreetFest with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
