Here In Oakland

Art & Life

August 6, 2018

Altogether

Monday. Lights out again at a decent hour, but awakening at five-thirty to lie and listen to the radio until six-fifteen before getting up and getting ready to walk to breakfast on another overcast morning, the acrid smell of smoke again in the air.

Had the plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries finally for breakfast after considering the other choices, but not really sure why I picked that one. Read the papers and finished by eight-thirty, the sun now shining and so the usual walk home taking the usual set of photographs, only one really out of focus in the bright sunlight. Better none, but we'll live with one.

Need to get out if only to have lunch downtown. When's the last time I've done that? The walls aren't closing in, but have become effective in keeping the outside out and the cameras gathering dust in.

So maybe a little rebellion is in order?

It's either that or television.

Later. Crashed on the bed for a couple of hours listening to the radio. Quite tired and fuzzy again, but up by noon to listen to the news, more for the fire updates than anything else. Yes, there's smoke in the air and it's going to get up to eighty today here in Oakland, too hot to think about the temperatures they're having inland.

Settled down then to process the last of the Art & Soul photographs and start putting the web pages together. I've been successfully avoiding it now for two weeks, not sure why, but avoiding it I've been. We'll know how far we get by the next paragraph.

Later still. It took all afternoon, but the Art & Soul section is now up on HereInOakland. We'll set up artandlife tomorrow, I've done enough work on web pages for the day. Hey.

We seem a bit wobbly.

You should see the typos. What I hope were typos and not indicative of something more damaging.

Evening. Really haven't spent much time with the tablet. Checked out the Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries episode at seven, but only managed to stay with parts of it, an Australian flapper detective series that only works for me now and again, skipped the Father Brown episode that followed altogether.

The San Francisco Anime & Cosplay Festival taken with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
