Weekend
Sunday. Lights out at nine-thirty to awaken at six, wondering if the road might be blocked by the half marathon that was scheduled to run this morning, but getting up and deciding to drive. The drive home was the problem, but what the hell, Sundays is my day to skip the walk and take the car. He said.
Arrived at ten minutes to seven to find the restaurant dark again, entered through the dining area door, turned on the lights and settled in with the Sunday papers. Had the plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries for breakfast, fruit cup and coffee, nothing else really appealing on the menu. One fifty on the scale, this morning, no need to be concerned about calories.
Finished up before nine, took the usual picture on the way to the car and drove home to take the selfie in the lobby and settle in at the computer. One of the Grand Avenue lanes was blocked off on the lake side, but there was no problem driving home. Not sure why the buses had posted signs saying their schedule would be interrupted this morning due to the race. Maybe it was clear because this was the half rather than the full marathon where the lake at that point was the finish line, the half marathon finish line elsewhere.
You do go on.
Better than counting toes. The golf tournament winds up today, I suspect I'll be watching. Now to walk down to the lake, see if there are any runners?
Later. Watched the Norther Trust golf tournament through til the end before heading over to the lake to see what was happening, Salsa music playing at the white column pergola (the drummers arrived later well after I'd gone) and there was a crowd dancing to the music and so took pictures. Bright sun, warm, stayed for a while, but then returned to the apartment to cool off and call it a day.
Evening. Watched the Swedish series Beck, what I'm assuming is one of the last ones in the seven year series, as one of the major supporting characters Grünewald is shot at the beginning of the episode and dies in hospital by the end.
Turns out I'd seen the Danish Those Who Kill – Episode 12 before and so bailed before nine to head to bed after a rare day that was pretty much clear of watching anything on the tablet and so lights out by nine-thirty again. Not much exercise, I'm afraid, and not enough attention to what few pictures I managed over this weekend.
