No harm in a “Merry Christmas” on a Christmas Eve, certainly. Yes, all the fundamentalist political stuff has become wearing and the holidays can be a strain, but I've not yet gotten to a point where a heartfelt “Merry Christmas” isn't in order. OK, OK. This is the Bay Area: A heartfelt “Happy (fill in your Holiday)” to you and yours and me and mine, may your days be merry and your evenings divine!
