Get The Idea
Sunday. Up this morning feeling pretty good, breakfast at the usual place where I ran into friends and shared a cup or two of coffee, over to Ms. Y and Mr. D's for kitty photographs before eleven (they greeting me with a very civilized glass or two of white wine to ease the process), then lunch over in Rockridge where I finished the morning and started the afternoon with an Irish coffee and an excellent house specialty pizza. The Holidays have arrived, I'm thinking, sitting here at the computer in the later afternoon having burned a CD or two of the photographs taken this morning.

Did I use the new lens? No, but it wouldn't have been appropriate, the idea being to create a photograph for a Holiday greeting card with the entire household. I'd been thinking a single cat, but when I understood there were three cats (as in herd of cats) which had to be cajoled into posing I understood I needed a wide angle lens, the wider, the better. Well, that's not really true, but you get the idea.

The photograph was taken at the Oakland Holiday Parade with a Nikon D2X mounted with a 17 - 55mm f 2.8 Nikkor lens at 1/320th second, f 2.8, ISO 100.
