All Our Family
Sunday. To bed last night at ten, really ready to sleep after a good long day of shooting the parade and preparing the photographs for artandlife. Slept like a log. Up this morning after six to head for breakfast and the paper (the Chronicle was late this morning, arriving after I'd left, the Tribune on time; between the two it's usually the Tribune that craps out), back now before eight in a slow headed mood. Which is good. We are ready for the day, the sun shining, slow headed but still reasonably coherent.
Later. Very bad news from Los Angeles. My cousin's daughter has lost her first child in childbirth, a complete and unexpected shock to the entire family. We're all worried, this cannot be anything other than disabling in its grief and intensity. She'll pull through, the family will pull through, but this has made for a very different and difficult period. My love to you and your husband, young lady, and to all the family.
