A Few Minutes
Tuesday. Still not ready for sleep until about eleven and so not the longest or the best night's rest I would guess, getting up with the alarm at six. Still, out the door easily enough, off to breakfast and back, taking another photograph of a pandorea blossom on the one still flowering vine. The other looks as healthy, just hasn't been producing flowers now for some time.
Another of life's little mysteries.
Ain't it the truth?
Later. A walk over to see what they were up to at the construction site because that's what we do in the mid-mornings, a few pictures of the ever increasing pallets of lumber and some progress on the side facing my street.
Back to lie down for a while without much success and so up to futz with the usual online news sites. A buzz from the apartment house front door, UPS delivering a copy of The Complete Zap Comix set sent by the publisher. I wasn't expecting it. Yes, they'd run my photograph of Gilbert Shelton, but I've had others run photographs in the past without receiving their book. This set retails for $500 ($450 from Amazon) and I assumed the price would argue against any chance of receiving a copy. They not only did a good job, they're a class outfit.
And you, of course, had already ordered one from Amazon.
They gave me a $200 discount for per-ordering it in May. What the hell? I've made worse purchases/mistakes.
Later still. A bus downtown, a bagel sandwich and coffee at that same outside table in front of the City Center bagel shop, a comment on my lack of imagination I'd guess. Some issues with the sinuses and vision acting up as I was walking, but nothing over the top. An ice cream bar from the 7-11 look-alike. Overcast, not too cold, not too warm.
Some time lying down on the bed when I got home, but no desire for a nap.
Evening. The sinus thing pretty much went further south. No ocular elements, just downright unpleasantness requiring lying down for the rest of the afternoon. Not sure what that's about. Just the sinuses?
It eased up after a while as evening started and I had the three shots of Jack Daniels I'd picked up with the ice cream bar over the next couple of hours, watched the Korean soap (I mentioned yesterday that runs on Mondays and Tuesdays) with a reasonably clear head, watched the very start of Charlie Rose before quitting and now I think I'll go to bed. Skip the tablet. Tried that earlier, nothing I could get myself to watch for more than a few minutes.
