Tomorrow

Sunday. I did get to bed and to sleep early after piling a couple of extra blankets on the bed, to then awaken at five-thirty to lie for half an hour slipping in and out of sleep. Up at six to drive to breakfast.

Breakfast and then a drive to the supermarket to pick up paper goods and a few comfort foods to lead us to Christmas. We will undoubtedly test our susceptibility to ocular migraines with sake and cheddar cheese spread later this evening. Tis the season.

Later. A walk to the Lakeshore ATM, bundled up as bundled up as I know how to get, starting out along the lake and then up Lakeshore, returning and having a banana split at the ice cream shop on the way home. A second banana split in something like a week, the first two in what I'm guessing is forty years. Still one-fifty on the scale, overweight the reason for avoiding them those forty long years. It was good, by the way. Very good.

Cold on the walk, but not as bad as it was yesterday was the thought. Supposed to be colder today according to the weather people, but who knows? Not warmer, but not really colder either.

Later. Sinuses still acting up. Tired. Watched some of the Raiders game, started another series on the tablet without being able to quite get into it, listened to On The Media for the first time in a long time, a program I once followed religiously. A not bad analysis of the Russian DNC hacking followed by an interesting comment on the fact they'd also hacked the RNC servers and suggesting the results of that hack may become an even bigger deal in the near future. We'll see.

I did finally take a dose of the pain meds, still don't know if they've helped or not. With the pain meds it's best to put off drinking alcohol and so maybe we'll skip the sake later. They're saying best not to mix the two which, in the past, I've interpreted to mean best not to mix too much of the two.

Evening. If I'd eaten every day what I've eaten today I wouldn't be around to be eating at all. Not at seventy-three. Still, the head is better. It is. The dose of pain meds kicking in after three hours or the fact it's now evening and evenings are often better that afternoons?

Watched two of the old Elementary reruns from a season I liked less than the others, but watched the two just now without apparent difficulty. I suspect this is another get to bed early evening. After having one of the two single serving bottles of the sake I'd picked up this morning. We'll leave that second one for tomorrow.

The photo up top was taken of a high student demonstration last month at Lake Merritt with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
