Post

Friday. Lights out early and to sleep. Beep. Awoke a couple of times during the night, long enough to turn over half awake, whatever dreams I was having visible in the background, and then awakening this morning at six. Missed the five minute news program on KPFA, but listened to the first half of Democracy Now! as I put the head together and set out for breakfast at a quarter to seven. So a good night by most lights.

Had the chicken-apple sausage, eggs over medium, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast. Under one-fifty on the scale this morning, the weight holding within a pound or two of the target and so no thoughts about calories and such.

Some clouds so far, some sun breaking through, but a bit overcast on the way to and, although there were still clouds up there on the way home, the clouds seemed thinner. A picture of a group of pigeons fighting to eat whatever it was they'd discovered next to a set of trash cans. Hmm. The picture of the day? I'm running out of pictures here.

You've run out of photo ideas and the gumption required to properly take them from what I'm seeing. Truth be told.

Let's just hope they're off on a not overly long winter vacation.

A bath and to think about heading over to the bank on Lakeshore to take care of some things for Christmas. I've been putting it off, but nows the time to get it done before it turns critical.

Later. A walk to the bank, a walk to the card shop, a walk back home carrying the small camera around the neck under the coat. No pictures knowing, heading out, there probably wouldn't be any, but I've been carrying a camera whenever I'm out since forever and couldn't talk myself in leaving it behind. Maybe work on this rut/habit, ingrained as it is. Do I need to carry one everywhere?

Seems so.

Home to watch Law & Order episodes I've seen before. Another habit I could drop with a little effort. Well, maybe more than a little.

Evening. Listened to Democracy Now! while cleaning the desk of accumulated paperwork, mail that needed shredding and discarding along with a bill needing payment. Which is good. I procrastinate on this stuff, but not long enough to send anything in late and the desk area never really gets totally buried. Maybe maybe a corner or two, but otherwise.... Well, enough. I'll call the mail order prescription people Monday. Something about being locked out of my account.

We are babbling now.

Still not a bad day. Remembered the city workers strike photographs and posted them to HereInOakland and artandlife. Just totally forgot they needed about fifteen minutes work and they were ready to post.

The photo up top was taken at the 2013 Oakland Holiday Parade with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
