Depressing

Monday. Lights out well before ten to awaken at six-fifty in time to listen to the five minute KPFA news brief at five of and then take my time getting the act together while listening to Democracy Now! before setting out walking to breakfast. Still dark, but all three papers in tow as they'd delivered the East Bay Times for some reason. It happens every so often, but the agreement states it isn't delivered on Mondays.

The avocado and cheese, light on the cheese, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast. Nothing unusual being reported in the papers as, I suspect, everyone is holding their breath waiting on the tax bill that's supposedly being voted on tomorrow. All three papers describe it as a give away to the top few percent and, I suspect, everyone is wondering if people will remember when next November rolls around. Will we just notice some small savings given in our own taxes when we vote or will people remember what's really happened? I have no idea living as I do in blue on top of blue land here in California.

The sun coming out walking home. Still fairly cold, the nose and eyes were running all the way walking in this morning, the warm then cold changes in temperature while eating breakfast causing the nose to keep running after getting out of the morning air. Nothing too terrible, but I do go through my share of paper napkins.

Home now to finish up yesterday's entry and think about the coming day. Didn't drive, didn't go by the supermarket, but it is necessary that I make a visit. But we'll know if today's the day soon enough.

Later. Looks nice out there, feels pretty good in here. Spent some twenty minutes (twenty minutes!!) on the phone getting my prescription web site account unfrozen after learning it was hosed when I tried to login this weekend. Part of my Medicare advantage plan, the prescription side of it, and you'd think for an operation its size they'd have their online system in order. Not just my account going south, but getting around their site to get things done has always been a problem. But I do go on. And on.

Clear headed enough, the sinus-palate thing in decent shape, but no thought to go to the supermarket, with or without the car, half of it because I've not been hungry. Well, no. Just haven't had the kick needed to get me out the door. We will drive to breakfast tomorrow and go by after. I will because I have to, I've finished eating everything I'm willing to eat I have to eat in the kitchen.

Evening. Watched Democracy Now! out of habit, watched Father Brown for inexplicable reasons and then went to bed, as going through a Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries is beyond my ken. Besides, three magazines arrived in the mail today and I've decided to do more than skim through them, but actually read them. Some of them. One or two articles in each or why do I keep subscribing?

Have you been debating this with yourself?

I try not to as these discussions are invariably depressing.

The photograph was taken at the San Francisco 2007 Asian Heritage Street Celebration with a Nikon D2Xs mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 Nikkor VR lens at 1/1000th second, f 2.8, ISO 100.
