Out

Saturday. To sleep easily enough before ten to awaken then at five-thirty. Well, it was five, but wasn't able to get back to sleep and so turned the light on at five-thirty, took the blood pressure (114/75), took the morning meds and settled back in bed with the electric shaver, not getting up and making the bed until the usual six-thirty time. What the hell? Seem to to have been wide awake since then. On to walk to breakfast to arrive at the restaurant a minute before the owner arrived and I'd entered the dark dining area, turned on the lights and was settling in with the papers.

An avocado and mushroom omelet, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast because I hadn't had an omelet for a while, finishing up with the papers by eight-forty and setting out for home, the sky overcast, the weather people saying rain late tonight or early tomorrow morning, an atmospheric river of rain followed by a Christmas Eve storm. I'd passed by this Bird scooter someone had picked up off the sidewalk and thrown into the vegetation below the Lakeview school. Anger on the sidewalk last night. If by a homeless person I can sympathize.

Arrived home and took the selfie before settling in to look at yesterday's entry before posting. The morning portion was reasonably coherent, none of the typos and glitches I'd found the day before. The evening portion was hopeless but it usually is and so posted and started on this. Saturday, today, no workmen up the way on the apartment/condominium construction site. Will I walk the short distance and take some photographs? I suspect I might.

And how many times have we said that now?

For most of this last week.

Later. Another walk to the Lakeshore ATM and the card shop, returning through the farmers market and by the drummer who's set up his kit on Saturdays now since forever. I suspect he's brought in more than enough in donations to buy multiple drum kits. Good for him. Haven't gone by the construction site (yet), but the afternoon is still young. He said.

My, my. A walk up the way to take the usual set of pictures of the construction site, whatever they've been doing recently protected by plastic sheets from the rain. Some differences since the last time, but most of the changes won't be visible until the weather gets better.

Watched the first quarter of the 49'ers-Rams game before retiring to the bedroom to start a Netflix series on the tablet called The Witcher. Weird, somewhat difficult to follow, but interesting enough and so continued through two chapters before checking back with the 49'ers on television to find the game had changed and they'd both been moving the ball and scoring better. Another 49'ers loss in the last two seconds of play? Not this time, they kicked the winning field goal this time in the last remaining seconds. Like that outcome much better.

Evening. More of The Witcher. Nothing on the radio on Saturday nights that I want to listen to and so continued on the tablet until it was ten before finally turning the lights out.

The photograph up top was taken at the Oakland 2008 Holiday Parade with a Nikon D2Xs mounted with a 17 - 55mm f 2.8 Nikkor lens at 1/500th second, f 2.8, ISO 100.
