A Chinese street festival in Oakland

February 20th, 2005

Will Be Fine
Pisces (February 19 - March 19): You've been doing the “I'm still here” bit long enough. Survival is all very well, particularly when you consider the alternatives. But you want more. You're ready to be a major player, and the time is now. Make a decision about contracts, then go celebrate yourself.

Yes, well, we've heard that before. Still, the morning is young, I've read the paper over breakfast down the way at the usual cafe, visited the office and fired up the servers we shut down Friday for Saturday's building blackout and there are two loads of laundry in the wash, all before 9:00. Which means the funkiness is not here and, although the day is overcast and I missed shooting the Chinese New Year parade in San Francisco last night, I say “so what”? I'm up for my horoscope. Let it happen, here in Oakland.

“Let it happen.” Precisely the problem. You need to get out and make it happen, my man, instead of waiting (for Godot).

“Waiting for Godot.” How cheesy, how unoriginal. Besides, I have been preparing, laying plans, communing with self. Sometimes, no matter how rude and crude your behavior, you discover that god is on your side.

I wouldn't count on too much from Her without a little respect and capitalization there, my friend.

Self, we're in this boat together, paddling for our wretched lives. If god didn't have a sense of humor, she wouldn't have surrounded us with all these sharks.

You need to get along to get along, is all I'm saying. Get along to where? Who in the hell knows, particularly on a Sunday, in the morning, before lunch.

Save the negativity for me, deedle-dee-dee, I am much practiced.

I believe I'm due in Vallejo this afternoon to visit friends (and tweak a computer). Maybe the weather will be nice for the drive, maybe it won't, but either way I'll play the CD's I picked up yesterday, and the ride will be fine.
