I Go To Bed
Tuesday. To bed just after nine. Up with the alarm on an overcast with a few drops of rain morning. To breakfast and back having two strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast and coffee. I got down the bacon (two strips, after all), most of the eggs, none of the potatoes, most of the toast and all of the coffee. A not bad, not necessarily good start to the day, but we're home, yesterday's entry has been posted and we're about to find out if my barber has managed to find a chair in another shop for her customers this morning.

Our appointment is for ten and I have a couple of errands to run. I'll go by the shop at ten, but suspect I won't find her. Still, the errands will be run, some things I have to get out of the way anyway, and we'll think about how long before we have to set out to find a new hair stylist. No, I don't have her phone number, I have the number of the now old shop, the owners of which have decided to open a shop of their own in its place devoted to an African American clientele. One must support one's barber in such a situation and not go with the folks who've thrown her out of her chair. Hup. And such.

Later. In futzing around with this and that I managed to miss my downtown bus to arrive for my haircut on time and so got a call from my barber - Where are you? I'm still at the same place! - so I drove to the parking garage under the City Center where the shop is located, got the haircut and returned to the apartment. Easy as pie. My, my.

Feel less tired this morning, my first impulse wasn't to lie down for a nap when I got home, so it's now early afternoon, it's raining and I'm thinking of catching up on things. (Not the first time for this thought, but still waiting on any follow through.) Not great weather, but feel pretty good. Take that over a sunny day any day.

Evening. A Maigret I know I've seen before, more than once, still had no idea who in the hell had done it or why until the very end. Weird little series, Maigret, almost everyone in this one an unsympathetic character living a miserable existence. Still, I watch. And then I go to bed.

The photo up top was taken at the San Francisco 2011 Chinese New Year Parade with a Nikon D3s mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
