Minutes
Sunday. Lights out before ten, certainly, but my own lights out took hours longer. Seemed to take forever to get to sleep, although I did awaken ten minutes before six to get up and get ready to drive to breakfast wide awake and in good fettle. We'll see if not getting all that much sleep last night comes back to haunt us later this morning or afternoon.
Another safe breakfast: the oatmeal with side order of toast, fruit cup and coffee. Thought about ordering something else, but not all that seriously. We said we were trying this for a week, so a week we will, and so far it's given us a clear head and no later in the morning fuzzy disorienting ocular episodes. So far.
Nice day out there. We need to go by an ATM and so we'll probably take a crack at the Broadway ATM in case they haven't fixed the one on Lakeshore yet.
Later. A bus to the Broadway ATM to find it operational and so a walk back to the apartment, taking a picture of the work they've been doing on Harrison Street at Grand and another farther along, the color and balance of which didn't quite turn out as well as I might have liked. But pictures, none the less.
No hint of tiredness as it approaches noon. Bright sun, decent temperature, you'd think it might be enough to lure me out again. We'll see. No thoughts of doing so now.
That's usually pretty predictive of your behavior, is it not?
Indeed. But again, it's early and only just now coming up on noon.
Later still. There were two of the old Elementary episodes this late afternoon and so I watched them from the beginning instead of screwing up and remembering they were playing when they were half way done. An article in one of today's papers listed series the networks were going to renew and those they're going to ax and Elementary is one that looks like it's seen its last year. Still, five seasons, probably more than anyone expected.
Evening. The Academy Awards this evening. I'm not sure I've ever made it a point to watch them in the past, so I can't blame my lack of interest in watching on my getting older. The political comments by the recipients would be interesting, but they'll be repeated on tomorrow's news, probably when I awake to Democracy Now!. So we'll not worry about watchng them tonight.
Do they run on the networks? You don't have cable.
Doesn't matter. Last night has caught up with us and we're going to go to sleep without effort in about ten to twelve minutes.
