Come. Soon. I just don't have the time or energy to shoot pictures in the evening and do this journal too. The picture above is a first cut with the Nikon using an auto focus Nikor 35mm - 70mm zoom. There were two strobes used, one on either side. Next I'll use the Nikor 60mm micro in manual focus and move the lights around to see what can be done with the shadows. The photograph isn't sharp and the lighting is crappy, but its a start. If I repeat myself enough times, maybe I'll actually get it together and shoot (recurring theme here). The shots I took of the book shelves with the Nikon digital CoolPix 900s for Sunday's photograph didn't work very well because I couldn't get the shutter to synchronize with the strobes and the built in flash just didn't cut it alone. I assume the instructions go over this, but the manual is hopeless, directing you to the documentation on the CD, and the documentation on the CD sucks. The CoolPix isn't a cheap camera and you expect more. Technically fine pictures, better than I ever expected, but crappy documentation. I hope Nikon isn't losing it with all the competition around. They're still the professional's choice for the usual reasons, but you don't stay there with this kind of attention to detail. My PhotoShop class was supposed to start tomorrow, but I got a call from the instructor saying it was cancelled, not enough people had signed up. Too bad, I've been looking forward to going to this class for a long time. We're evaluating a web site at work that provides interactive training and I noticed one of the classes is for PhotoShop, so I signed up this afternoon. I'm going to download the software they use to communicate (chat room and audio software) with their students later this evening and hope its all compatible with Windows NT. Should be. There's lots of NT around. I've had puffy eyes and a headache these last few days. I don't normally get headaches and puffy eyes is something I've only read about in books, so maybe I'd better pay attention. Nothing too radical, but it reminds me of how I felt when I was bleeding. Run down and easily tired, except I went running around today without aches or pains and I still do the stairs instead of the elevators between floors. Still, I'm not focusing well. We'll see. I need Spring to come. Soon.
