That Episode

Tuesday. They say if we're going to get any rain at all this month there's a twenty percent chance it will come today and the clouds look at least twenty percent ready. Another year of drought here at the End Of The Rainbow.

Still, awake and up just before the alarm after lights out late last night, feeling reasonably good, payback for staying up late watching mayhem on the tablet usually doesn't arrive until later in the morning if it decides to arrive at all. Again, overcast, a rain looking grey, so we can lie down and attempt a nap if things go south.

Another day like all days, in other words.

Seems to be. We'll take it as it comes, maybe even get outside later for a decent walk, take some pictures.

Later. A walk over to take pictures at the construction site (of course, it's mid to late morning, what else would I be doing?), before taking the bus to the ATM on Broadway, a walk back to the café beside the Christ The Light church to sit out at a table over a cinnamon bun and coffee, taking a couple of pictures of what I guess are Magnolia trees in bloom. In January? Well, OK. I don't remember when they bloomed a decade ago when I had one outside the condominium I was then living in over on Perkins.

They start in January. Believe me, I just looked it up.

Well, well. Home then on a bus to lie down and watch another episode of a series I've been watching on the tablet this last week when what I realized I might have an ocular migraine coming on. I don't remember anything about the episode I watched, lying there perplexed as the story evolved. A forty or fifty minute episode on the tablet, a forty or fifty minute ocular migraine. I guess I should be happy that I didn't enter into the episode itself as usually happens.

I simply found myself blank and lost, no longer engaged with the story. I'll watch it again later to see what happened. A different but still strange adventure. I'd like them to stop.

Later still. Crawled into bed again with a clearer head for an hour's nap. Another no longer atypical day along the way here in Oakland.

Evening. Nothing on television. It's Tuesday, after all. I talked about going to bed early to watch that episode again.

The photo up top was taken yesterday at the apartment house construction site at 460 Grand with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 24-120mm f 4.0 VR Nikkor lens.
