Old Fart

Monday. And indeed to bed around six-thirty to watch one or two things on the tablet, but then to turn out the lights and sleep through until six forty-five, awakening during the night for but two brief times and so another long night's rest. Sleep. I think.

A walk to breakfast, overcast, but with breaks in the clouds and occasional periods of sun breaking through later on the way home. Good. Holding with the forecast. Not sure what we'll do today, other than getting in that walk. Some stiffness and such still after the weekend's running around, so we'll push and see if we can't build up the stamina for the coming parades and festivals, see if we can still continue to call ourself a (self indulgent) photographer.

Later. Sunny, sixty degrees, but not much in the way of a walk this early afternoon, a trip to the 7-11 look-alike for a bag of “Chipotle” peanuts (lunch) and a walk back by the lake to sit and eat peanuts for a while, returning to the apartment for what couldn't be called more than a warm up before a walk. Good intentions, it's just, well....

Later still. Finished the March For Bernie photographs and put together a section for the web sites, posting them finally before lying down to see what I might find on the tablet to kill half an hour before Democracy Now comes on. Awakening and up too late to really listen to much of it this morning.

Evening. Made it through the first half of Democracy Now before bailing for bed and the tablet, making progress in two or three of the movies I've been watching in ten minute increments now for some time. I'll watch one straight through when I find one I really like, but most of them are in the ten minutes at a time category. Wonder if that's common or says something specific about me-oh-mine?

Watched the first half of Charlie Rose, an interesting dialogue on the world economy, interesting in the sense I'd not heard it described in quite the same way before, so good. But that was it for the evening, to bed and the tablet before nine, lights out before ten. Another how is the sleep going to go this night? And does it matter? We've been pretty functional these last whatever number of days. For an old fart.

The photo up top was taken Monday at the #96Hours #DirectActionWeekend March to Emeryville at Frank Ogawa Plaza with a Nikon D4s mounted with an 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
