Now Done

Wednesday. Tired and so to bed early, skipping the tablet, listening to the radio, but turning out the lights well before ten. Awake at quarter to six to take my time getting up before driving to the Lakeshore ATM on the way to breakfast. Last night's wind gusts and rain weren't in evidence, although the sky a leaden grey and they're saying more rain coming. Still, luck. Ducked any rain while driving.

The Eggs Benedict breakfast and then home. Cold, without being too cold, the cloud cover keeping it warmer. Home now to do what? Go outside if it isn't raining? I could certainly use the pictures.

Later. A walk at noon that ended at the morning restaurant, but crossing Grand to loop right back to the apartment. At least we'd gotten in a walk for the day. Not much of a walk, but better than sitting in the apartment. A very light, more mist than rain, rain on the way home and so we're inside for the rest of the day.

Later still. OK, better. I'd taken a half hour nap this morning, but without much seeming effect, tired all through the walk and into the afternoon. Figured what the hell and took a dose of the pain meds, as the sinuses were adding to the mess. Did it work? Well, things came together around three and all again seemed well with the world. “Well with the world” in my particular world. Well enough to say clear headed and in a good mood.

Scanned another negative, this one from the photographs I took in the early seventies in San Francisco. All of the old negatives processed by external labs are spotted with dust, one reason I started doing them myself after a while when I began shooting again in the late 90's. Be curious to see if I can talk myself into scanning more, as I seem to have done these without needing much encouragement.

Evening. Watched some of the Law & Order episodes they show all day on Wednesdays, which probably doesn't say much for my being clear headed. To bed early to watch a Charlie Rose interview from yesterday on the tablet, one I wanted to see straight through again before lights out. Another television and tablet day now done.

The photo up top was taken along Lake Merritt two years ago today with a Nikon D4s mounted with an 80-400mm f 4.5-5.6 VR Nikkor lens.
