Game

Monday. To bed early enough, nothing on the radio I was interested in listening to and so lights out after nine to take what I thought was a longer time than I'd have liked to get to sleep before awakening then at ten to six to get up listening to Democracy Now! as I got ready to drive to breakfast, the rain coming down pretty good. As they'd been warning.

The café was open when I arrived, but still raining hard enough that I skipped walking to feed the meter that starts running at eight and so hurried a little over the papers and an avocado and cheese omelet, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee breakfast. Seemed right at the time, although there was more cheese than I'd have liked. Still, a good breakfast on a dark and rainy morning, the car parked near the entrance and so a picture and a ride back home without any bother. It's still dark, still raining and they're saying it will remain through end of day tomorrow.

Later. Tired and so, after a bath, a trip to the bedroom to lie down and listen to various news programs on the radio. Raining fairly hard, they're saying high winds and more rain through the rest of the morning, so we'll probably be driving to breakfast again tomorrow.

No walking in the rain?

I've been sitting here feeling antsy, getting up twice to prepare to walk over to the lake or to the 7-11 look-alike to pick up something to eat, if I could talk myself in wanting something they sell. But so far not. We'll see how hard it's raining tomorrow morning.

Later still. Quite tired now. My, my. Checked the blood pressure, but it's good, can't blame it there. Not so much sleepy tired, but body heavy tired, if that makes any sense. Oh, and still raining.

Evening. Watched a series on the tablet, got up and actually watched a particularly unsubtle episode of Father Brown, skipped the Miss Fisher that followed, although I did watch for something like ten minutes, had I been less tired I might have continued, and so to bed by maybe eight-fifteen.

I'd wondered about the Alabama-Georgia championship game and, in checking, found it was over and being discussed on AM radio and so listened to some of it before giving up and turning the lights out. Georgia had been ahead earlier in the evening, far enough I figured they would win, but Alabama seems to have won in some incredible comeback, substituting their freshman backup quarterback according to the discussion. Maybe should have sought it out earlier and listened to the game.

The photo up top was taken at the 2013 Oakland Children's Holiday Parade with a Nikon D4 mounted with a 24-120mm f/4.0 VR Nikkor lens..
