Night

Tuesday. To bed early and to sleep early, awakening at five-thirty to go through the now usual blink a few times and find it five minutes to six to get up and head out walking to breakfast. The weather people were saying a fair chance of rain showers this morning, but the sky looked reasonably benign and so decided to walk, the air not all that cold and arriving by seven to find the restaurant open. Settled right in with the papers.

An avocado and bacon omelet, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee, a first for bacon in an omelet. Good, but not that good, we'll go back to mushrooms next time around. Finished up somewhat early at eight-thirty and so walked home, taking the obligatory flower photo, two bicycle riders and a scooter rider shot at the Grand Lake theater light, a line of Lyft scooters at the lake and then home for a selfie and look at yesterday's entry, give up on doing anything other than add a couple of ending sentences and post. Nothing new in that, I'm afraid. Still, the head seems clearer this morning allowing some ambitious thoughts to creep in about doing better in the future. (Don't laugh.)

You're kidding yourself about your head being clear.

Later. The Senate Impeachment Trial has been on through the afternoon, listening now and again to parts of it and then finally lying down with the tablet. More of this “may you live in interesting times” business. Started raining in the early afternoon, they're saying it will stop sometime around midnight and we'll be able to walk to breakfast in the morning.

Evening. Continued listening to more of the Impeachment Trial. Well, sort of listening to it until ten, one in the morning Eastern time. Talk about something designed to make people not want to pay attention. Still, interesting times. Too much time watching marginal things on the tablet and the “trial” were about it for a night. A too late night.

The photograph was taken at the January 2018 Oakland Women's March with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 Nikkor VR II lens.
