Time
Thursday. To sleep early to awaken with the alarm. Good, I guess. A decent sleep time, I'd think. Up to keep to the daily schedule, even though I was due to have blood work at the lab that required fasting and wasn't going to breakfast. Booted the computer thinking I'd work on yesterday's entry, get a leg up before heading to the lab. Felt some dread at the thought of this break in the routine was my thinking. Dread over breaking a routine? Didn't want to head out on my own to the lab? I hadn't thought “dread” would be on a list of enfeeblements due to aging. If it is.
Out the door to catch the bus at eight, getting off at Broadway to walk the short distance to the Broadway stop, seeing the bus coming in the distance and so running to see if I could catch it. I did, but only because there'd been a line of people waiting to get on and so I pulled up just as the last person entered.
To the lab to wait for fifteen minutes before having the blood drawn. I'd looked for a second time at the lab paperwork, but didn't see a fasting note. Asked the lab technician. Yes, fasting was required. Another memory glitch? Had it been mentioned verbally at the doctor's office? I suspect it had. Still, wondering again about this memory of mine.
Another lucky bus arrival at the first Broadway stop to catch a bus to the Broadway ATM to walk then to Grand and wait ten minutes for a bus to the morning restaurant, arriving to sit at a table (behind my usual table), open the papers and order the full two pork chop breakfast with scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee. Not really that hungry, but if we're going to put off breakfast, we're going to make up for it. Silly, but most things are in this world of mine.
Finished up before noon to walk home and take the usual series of pictures. No bicycle riders at the two traffic lights, but a couple of flowers this time and a Christmas tree that's been left for pickup out on the sidewalk for these last couple of days. The selfie in the lobby and then to the computer to post yesterday's entry and turn on the Impeachment Trial for maybe ten minutes before heading for bed and the tablet.
Evening. To bed early, but got up again at eight to check out Vera on PBS to find I'd seen it before and so headed back to bed. An afternoon of television and not much else, lights out and radio off before nine-thirty this time.
