Before Ten
Wednesday. To bed early, up with the alarm, off to breakfast, the body pretty much coming together by the time I arrived. Ate breakfast, read the papers, headed home and started doing the laundry, the drier, out of commission last week, now working again. Or so I thought.
A quick walk down to Grand and the construction site to take my morning pictures, the crews still excavating and laying pipe, no one quite frowning when they saw me approaching with the camera. Not a problem, but there's always a certain sensitivity to the mood of the moment when I'm taking pictures, no need to push when pushing looks like it could bring comment. Again, no problem, but always aware. I'm the guest, they're the ones making all the effort.
Four hours to dry four washer loads, a two hours longer than it's taken to dry four loads in the past. Something about the rotation motor not being quite up to snuff. Still, the laundry is done and so off to the lab with the doctor's prescription in hand to get the blood work done, first a bus to Broadway and then a walk to the lab itself. Which allowed a couple of pictures along the way.
Lab done, caught a bus along Broadway back to Grand, missing my Grand Avenue bus by two minutes. No problem, the day nice, a walk back to the apartment to end what seems to have been a long day with but the laundry and then the lab as tasks.
Evening. Watched Democracy Now, tried to watch a Korean soap I've dipped into before after, bailed on the soap and went to bed. Avoided the tablet. Or at least Netflix on the tablet, sampling the International Mystery program at nine. Didn't set any hooks and so lights out and to sleep well before ten.
