As Quickly

Thursday. I was tired last night and I did get to bed and to sleep reasonably early, awakening fifteen minutes before the alarm to get up and out the door without particular effort, an overcast intermittent misty rain that didn't get you wet while walking to and from breakfast, just as the weather people had projected.

Still, the attitude good, the blood pressure OK, not enough rain out there, misty or otherwise, to keep us sitting inside. And I do need to pick up that prescription refill and take another set of Latham Square pictures. One does not want to make a habit of skipping pictures.

Later. A ten-thirty bus downtown, a bit cool, but comfortable in a long sleeved shirt and light jacket, getting off at 12th Street and picking up that prescription refill, a ninety day supply instead of a thirty day supply this time. Need to do that with one or two others.

The timing was good for pictures and still catching the next bus, so a walk along Broadway taking Latham Square pictures on the way to the stop. A fair amount of activity with a number of workmen about. The bus then to the apartment house construction site, passing by a long line of people on the sidewalk waiting to apply for an apartment when the project is finished. There's been a similar line now these last several days, more people than the number of subsidized apartments, but that unfortunately you expect. Can't be easy.

More pictures, this time with construction workers visible on the outside walls (we appreciate people in our pictures) before walking the rest of the way home, arriving before noon. All this activity before noon. We should be pleased (sinuses acting up or not).

Later still. Bumbling along, still in a good mood, finally walking over to the 7-11 look-alike for a pint of ice cream. Dinner is going to be ice cream, said a little voice, and I am one who listens to his little voices. Most of the time. When it gives me advice I like.

Still overcast with light mist-like rain now and again, causing me for the first time to leave and then immediately turn around and walk back before heading out a second time to get the ice cream. Strawberry, of course. Our usual choice, now a habit.

Evening. And, of course, I'd seen tonight's Inspector Lewis before and so had it running in the background as I was futzing with this on the computer. I'm sure I'll watch Vera at nine-thirty. Haven't seen any of these Vera episodes before. My guess is, though, if there's a series of Vera reruns in the future, I'll bail on them as quickly.

The photo up top was taken at the San Francisco 2015 LGBT Pride Parade in San Francisco with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
