Sunday. A two day drive to Lake Oswego to visit my sister, finding, that first night at the motel in Weed, that I'd copied the June 2016 journal files instead of the July 2016 journal files and didn't have any current photographs and so opted to blow off an attempt to write or post an entry. And I was tired with the driving. Excuses enough.

My brother-in-law passed away on Thursday and so the hurried departure. Not unexpected, a cancer he's been fighting for over a decade, but unexpected anyway. It's always unexpected.

So we'll see how the posting goes for the coming week. Arrived Saturday afternoon tired from the driving and making me wonder how much more driving I'll do from now on over these kinds of distances. Mortality. Something we all come to face. Eventually.
