Life

Thursday. Lights out well before ten to awaken just after six. Not bad. Up to walk to breakfast on another overcast morning, arriving at the restaurant before seven to find it open, the dining area lights on and so settled in with the morning papers.

The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, more because I haven't had it in a while and that's what came out of my mouth when asked, finishing up the papers by a quarter to nine.

So far so good. The sinus-upper palate in reasonable shape walking home at a decent pace, although more than half the other pedestrians on the sidewalk were passing me by. About right. The usual pictures, the “white sails ladies” again by the lake, the workers active at the sidewalk construction near the bottom of my hill, another selfie when I reached the apartment house lobby. I should take more time with the selfie, but the elevator is on the way and I only give myself a small amount of time to get it done. No excuse, just my habit.

They're saying into the mid-seventies later today, similar to the temperatures we've had these last couple of days. Have no idea what we're going to do later.

Evening. Watched an English subtitled Icelandic detective series throughout most of the afternoon and then into the evening with a break or two to listen without much interest to the various news programs I pay attention to. Tried watching Vera on Public Television starting at eight, but again, I really can't quite make out enough to follow properly through their accents and, I suspect, the quality of my speakers. Everything else comes through fine except Vera. Such is life.

The photo up top was taken at the 2017 San Francisco LGBT Gay Pride Parade with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
