Hook
Saturday. A genuinely uneven, watch the clock tick off the hours while listening to fireworks exploding in the distance until three in the morning, night's sleep. Still, when six o'clock rolled around I didn't seem to feel all that tired. Odd.
Anyway, decided to drive to breakfast under overcast skies to find that the street along the lake was blocked off with policemen guarding the entrances. OK, the Fourth of July weekend, they were worried about large crowds after the shooting that had occurred by the lake last month on the Juneteenth weekend. Parked by the 7-11, entered the restaurant and sat down at my usual place inside with the papers.
The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee, still fighting the weight, finishing up by nine to drive home and discover they'd blocked off every other entrance to the lake, which meant I ended up driving for twenty minutes trying to find a way back home, which means I'll walk rather than drive tomorrow morning as I suspect the streets will remain blocked off through this entire weekend.
Home to take a muddy looking selfie before settling in to finish yesterday's entry, post and then process this morning's pictures.
Later. I did take a nap, but not until much later in the afternoon. Watched quite a bit of the Rocket Mortgage PGA tournament that started at noon and not much else other than the various Sunday television news programs.
Evening. Started watching The Accidental Tourist with William Hurt, Kathleen Turner and Geena Davis for maybe ten minutes before deciding it was time to go to bed and see if I couldn't make up for losing so much sleep last night. Well, that was one of many thoughts that crossed my mind when the movie, in casting for my attention, didn't set a hook.
