Come

Friday. To sleep pretty much right off the bat to awaken at six. I was tired, seemed to have resulted in a good night's rest. Off to walk to breakfast under clear skies at the usual time to arrive as they were starting to put the tables out on the patio and so settled in at my table inside to start on the papers.

The two strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee (because why not?), finishing up around nine to set out for home under a bright sun with a cooling light breeze making the walk quite comfortable. A preponderance of the people I passed weren't wearing masks, or they were wearing them down around their necks, even though according to the news the COVID cases were picking up. Such, I guess, is life under COVID.

Home to take the selfie in the lobby and enter the elevator, the alimentary canal starting to shout it's best we get to the bathroom as quickly as we can. Why just as I was entering the elevator and not earlier? Does the body know when a bathroom is nearby? Anyway, to the bathroom in time before settling in at the computer to start the morning journal routine, noting the pigeons were still billing and cooing out on the balcony, not giving up and trying to get past the netting.

Later. Watched two reasonably bad movies on the tablet as well as the usual news programs. “Reasonably bad” seems more often to be my reaction to these offerings, but I still spend hours watching them. Nice outside, at least, the pigeons still in evidence, still testing the netting by flying into it. I'm wondering how long that will go on, how long it takes a pigeon to figure out the netting isn't going away.

Evening. Watched some of the Inspector Morse episode at eight, decided to turn it off half an hour in and take a look at the Icon: Music Through The Lens episode that started at nine, a series I'd seen ads for over these last few days on music photography and photographers: “Life on the tour bus and in the photo pit”. I'm an easy sell for something like that.

Found the music photographer episode interesting enough, particularly as to its history from about the mid-sixties through the mid-seventies, but found myself switching back and forth with Morse as I was curious if I remembered the ending, having, of course, seen it before. Turned out overall to be half interesting for a Friday evening. To bed late at close to ten to lie down, turn out the lights and wait for sleep to come.

The photo up top was taken at the 2016 San Francisco Anime & Cosplay Festival with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
