Make It Fly
We went to the meeting I mentioned to hear the announcement. There was a sign outside the room that said go to the steps in front of City Hall. We walked over to City Hall to find pizza boxes and soft drinks stacked at the edge of the amphitheater - lunch on the company - the announcement being the company was making money hand over fist, our particular group's budget had been approved and we all had jobs. Darkest before the dawn and this is the dawn? Who knows? Not I. We played a silly game they'd devised with little plastic airplanes you launch with a rubber band. It was fun. Grumpy moi enjoyed himself adjusting wings and stuff to make it fly as far as possible. Weird. Here in Oakland.
