A Bunch Of Them

Saturday. Things come out of left field. Chills last night of all things, to bed early under a pile of blankets, up this morning after six feeling no worse, no better, than I usually feel, no chills at least. Yet. Odd. I've had this happen once or twice in the past, usually you get the runny nose and every other damned symptom you can list, but this was just chills and an aggravated sinus-upper palate thing as the upper teeth on both sides toward the back really ached.

So, to breakfast and back, felt good enough for that. They're saying sun later this morning after the overcast breaks, we'll assume the day will continue to go well although I wonder if I'll feel like putting that computer back together later. All this just to avoid the task? Going a bit overboard, I'd think.

I'd planned to go to San Francisco this morning to photograph a group of bike riders making a point about something or other and wanting press coverage (so they're making their ride without clothes), but with the chills last night we'll stay here and play it safe.

I've never been comfortable with the image of someone my age running around with a bunch of photographers chasing after naked people. I have no problem photographing naked people, such things add an interesting bit of tension to things that will show up in the images, but again, I'm too old to be seen running (rutting) after such stuff.

Do you believe any of that?

Nah. It's true, but pictures are pictures and you go where you can to find them.

Later We knew they were probably going to make an announcement one of these days, but I wasn't expecting they'd do it quite like this. Well, they both perform stand up comedy in Hollywood, this in that sense makes sense.

A walk down by the farmer's market to have lunch at the morning café needing to get out in the outside air. Walking back I realized I was feeling much better than when I'd started so maybe this outside air business has some validity. This leads to wondering about some evil aspect of my apartment, which leads to, well, madness after a while. I need to stop.

I've wondered, given the large number of geese around the lake, why I wasn't seeing more goslings. You'd think, given the large number of pairs, there'd be a whole lot more and I was guessing maybe they stayed in another, safer area. Today I noted this group. Older goslings, but a bunch of them.

The photograph was taken at the San Francisco 2011 Carnaval Parade with a Nikon D3s mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 Nikkor VR II lens.
