Some Sleep
Sunday. I did get to sleep early and slept straight through to the alarm to get up and out the door to arrive at breakfast at seven. Since the kitchen doesn't start serving until seven-thirty, and even then often runs a little late, I left the Times at home and brought the Chronicle and Tribune, thinking I'd have trouble finishing them before I had to leave to catch that eight-twenty train.
And breakfast did arrive late and so a mad dash at the end, wolfing down the last of the waffle with sliced fruit, both of which, the waffle and the sliced fruit, talking to me all the way to San Francisco. Don't want to be doing that again. Arrived at the 12th Street station in plenty of time, lots of street parking available near the entrance only to find the station itself packed with people. Assumed train would be packed too, but found it close to empty with plenty of seats available.
And so the trip to photograph the parade settled down, at least I finally settled down, and the two hours of shooting went well, no problems with the parade monitors shushing me off the street, although I was expecting more motorcycle participants (seemed to be many more onlookers, though, and no way from my location to tell about the rest of the parade) and a bit more whoop-dee-do! with the recent Supreme Court decision. Overcast, grey, but warm enough, with the sun coming along later in the afternoon.
Left five minutes before the parade was set to start, tired without being too tired, a train arriving right away and a quick trip to the Oakland station and driving home, picking up an ice cream bar on the way at the 7-11 look-alike. I suspect I may have enough photographs for four sections, although I suspect I might be pushing it at four and should, in a more sensible mood, strive for three. We'll see. It's noon. Maybe settle down for a while before we start in again.
Later. Parade photographs and more parade photographs. I'm guessing the day went less well photographically than they have in the past, but we'll see when we finish the photographs tomorrow. Tired today, might take more than tomorrow to get them all done.
Evening. I did watch the first episode of Poldark last Sunday, but skipped watching the second episode tonight. It started at nine, but I'm tired. Better to go to bed right now and pass out get some sleep.
