The Morrow
Sunday. Lights out again by ten to awaken at quarter to six, fifteen minutes sooner than I'd have liked. OK, take our time, shave with the electric razor while lying in bed listening to the radio, the usual routine, get up and get out the door to drive to breakfast, today the hamburger patty with scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee. Haven't had that for breakfast in a very long while.
Filled the tank with gas at the station after breakfast and then drove on to the supermarket to replenish the kitchen, feeling pretty good, pretty good meaning the usual off kilter elements were there, but behaving themselves. Some thought to saying the hell with it and living with the lot of them without a second thought, not using them as an excuse to draw in the claws. Well, draw inside our shell. Claws, after all. Claws?
Anyway, an overcast day with a high they're saying in the seventies. Must be something out there we can do, something to photograph, something that gets us out and walking. Go by the ATM, something.
Later. A good start, but then an hour in bed listening to NPR on the radio with thoughts of a nap. A sandwich and then a walk over to the lake, the sun bright, the temperature into the seventies, a single picture of a cormorant at quite a distance, the camera with the equivalent of a 200mm lens, the shutter speed too low for the shot and so the background, wings and body of the bird blurred, but its payload for the nest reasonably sharp. A higher shutter speed and the bird would have popped right out. Another vote of confidence in the new camera. Now if we could get the lazy assed photographer straightened out....
Sat on a bench in the sun before returning to the apartment, the same old funky sinus/upper pallet present, but improving. We'll say better. Feels like a weekday, even with so many people about, but I keep thinking it's time to dial into one of the news programs that run during the work week. Knock twice on the forehead.
Evening. Remembered the Warriors game started at five, listened to the beginning of it for about five minutes on AM radio. We'll dial in from time to time to see how they're doing. I'd probably do the same if it were playing on television, which gives you an idea of my rather lightweight focus on the game. Still, find it's fun to follow.
The Warriors seem to have won their game by thirty-three points. The game, some news programs and now it's eight in the evening, heading for nine, and our day is essentially done. Haven't been able to find anything I want to watch on the tablet, something I have this creepy feeling might be here to stay, this difficulty in finding anything I might want to watch, and so to bed. Another Protime blood thinner test tomorrow and I need to get the car SMOG checked, so something to keep us busy on the morrow.
