Nine

Saturday. Lights out before ten to awaken at six, getting up and getting out the door by six-thirty with just the two papers in tow.

Overcast, a news report saying there was some chance of rain in places, but no signs of rain light or otherwise I could see from the bedroom window and so a walk to breakfast. The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee, reading the papers and heading home, taking some of the usual pictures on the way.

Nothing happening out there I'm aware of this day and so maybe a walk through the farmers market later or more flying bird pictures if I can get my head around it?

Later. Watched three episodes of Law & Order, the Special Victims Unit version, discovering I hadn't seen any of them before, but seen or unseen, three were more than enough.

And so out the door then to head over to the lake and then on around the farmers market to at least say I'd walked by, thinking maybe something at the ice cream shop, but unable to talk myself into entering when I arrived. OK, back through the farmers market this time, sitting by the lake for a few minutes on the way home. Thought about a grilled chicken sandwich from the burger drive-in, but again said no. Didn't appeal and I wasn't up for any more walking. Tired.

Later still. Another incident in London, the French 24 channel covering it live. Another up-tick in uncertainty to incorporate into this life. London is a long way away in many ways, right next door in others. An added element in the background noise for this 21st Century? Then again is it any stranger than the last centuries, it's just that when I was younger I was blissfully unaware?

At least back then you tended to keep your mouth shut.

Evening. Another evening like recent evenings. Television, some little time on the tablet, watched some of the Sgt. Pepper's Musical Revolution on the PBS channel to then get to bed not long after nine.

The photo up top was taken at the 2013 San Francisco Carnaval Parade with a Nikon D4 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
