Economy
Tuesday. I seem to recall listening to the six minute news at ten last night before turning out the lights, but up this morning at six-fifteen to get a good night's sleep and late enough for the East Bay Times to have arrived. We need/want/talk about making this a habit.
Bright sun on the walk to breakfast, the plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee while reading the papers. Still quite bright walking home, the attitude good, given my current state, and so here now to think of something to do later. I need to go by an ATM. How to leverage that into something different? Perhaps a destination I haven't been to in a while?
You're just blowing smoke. You have no idea or great urge to break out of your norm.
Well, I do think about it, even when I know that to be true. With the Warriors win last night they've scheduled their parade for this coming Thursday and so an opportunity for pictures. We shall do our best to go early and get something together for the web sites. Make up for Sunday's lazy misadventure.
Later. A bus to the Broadway ATM to then walk back by the construction areas at Grand and Harrison and the entrance to Children's Fairyland to take pictures and on to the burger drive-in (it's now open again, I didn't ask if they'd been shut down for poisoned any of their customers) to pick up a grilled chicken sandwich. So much for the exotic on this sunny day in Oakland.
I did listen to some of the Sessions questioning that was broadcast live on Twitter before discovering the PBS World channel had been broadcasting it as well. Didn't sound as if anything astonishing had been elicited from what little I heard, Sessions ducking pretty much any and all questions.
Listened to the Democracy Now! Naomi Klein interview with continued interest, having heard the first half of it this morning before heading to breakfast. Interesting comments on Trump's election, on the climate impasse and the European elections. I've mentioned I don't know enough about Macron to make judgments and so related to Klein's worry that he was a danger in that should/when his Neocon austerity administration fails, it might well push the French to elect a Marine Le Pen right wing government. Interesting times here and in Europe.
Evening. Spent time with the tablet, watching too many things I'd not otherwise watch if there was something else available of interest. Hard to say from the blurbs they use to describe the series and movies if they're worth watching.
Checked Charlie Rose at eight, but didn't feel need to hear about Sessions again or hear the Treasury Secretary suggest their recent gutting of Dodd-Frank will do wonders for the economy.
