Sunday. Left the bedroom and balcony windows open last night to cool the apartment down. Not much, but it was cooler outside and so awoke this morning and left them open before driving to breakfast. To arrive fifteen minutes before the restaurant opened. The usual person who opens the restaurant has been replaced and I need to remember in the future she arrives at seven and not six-thirty.
A little light headed, but the waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast. The East Bay Times had been sitting on the apartment house doorstep as I was leaving and so had all three Sunday papers to read. Took me a while.
Drove to the supermarket after breakfast, forgetting to pick up spaghetti, but remembering a number of other things I've needed to replenish now for a while. Ate the cheese spread and crackers I'd bought when I got home. Hungry. Maybe not good to go shopping when you're hungry. Breakfast, evidently, hadn't been all that filling.
The apartment windows are now all closed and the shades drawn as it's gotten warm very quickly this morning. They're saying close to ninety here, well into the hundreds east of here and it looks as if it's happening. I'm pretty sure about what that implies for any chance of outdoor adventure later.
Later. Ninety-five degrees today. Turned on the fan and watched television when I wasn't lying on the bed, the fan traveling with me. This with the eating and drinking. The trip to the supermarket. Haven't done that in some time and so spreadable cheddar on crackers, crunchy peanut button on crackers, two kinds of cereal and a scoop or two of cottage cheese. And sake. Comfort foods I haven't had in months. No regrets or excuses.
Evening. Two episodes of Elementary I've seen before, but long enough before I really didn't remember much of the plot in either one of them. Early episodes, irritating in the usual ways, the drug addicted Holmes foremost among them, but I still sat and enjoyed watching them. To be honest.
Sitting in front of the fan without a t-shirt for most of the afternoon and now into the evening. Just stuck my head outside and discovered it was somewhat cooler now than it was inside and so all the windows are wide open. We may have a cooler evening than I was expecting. Please.
