Up

Monday. Lights out before ten, but not much before ten, to awaken then at five-thirty. Too early, although I felt clear headed and ready to go, having to force myself to delay and set out at six forty-five in a long sleeved shirt and light jacket, the light jacket more for its pockets (sun glasses, reading glasses, smart phone) than needing it for warmth.

The restaurant was open when I arrived and so ordered the two strips of bacon, eggs over medium, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee, finishing up somewhat early before eight-thirty to set out, the sun shining, the temperature up and close to a point where that light jacket was too warm. Next time just wear a t-shirt under it. I need those pockets.

Home to take the selfie (what else?) and post yesterday's entry, the usual bitching about my slovenliness with the writing and subject matter, to then crash for forty-five minutes, feeling tired. Last night's sleep (or lack thereof) had caught up to me by ten o'clock. Weird how that seems to work.

Later. Another lie down and zone out for an hour's nap. Yes, it's warm out there, just over ninety, but not that warm inside and so I can't blame it on the heat. Out the door to see how warm it really was to take a picture of the construction site just up the way, a task of about five minutes. No real change since I took a picture two weeks ago on the 27th.

And another hour and a half nap lying on the bed with the fan at the foot. They're saying a high of ninety-eight degrees today and close to that right now that it's five-thirty. Best to have stayed inside.

Evening. Ah, yes. The Warriors are playing and so I've been following the score displaying on the computer screen. Odd way to follow a basketball team.

Nothing on television and so to bed with the fan again at the foot, again bringing up the Warriors score as it changes. Well, to check now and again to see the final entry, the Warriors behind, scoring six points in the final update to win by one. Weird way to get your blood pressure up.

The photo up top was taken one year ago at the 2018 Oakland Sex Workers Protest with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
