Snapshots

Under Construction

A photo session in Emeryville.

March 26th, 2006

Perfect Name
Sunday. Not a bad morning, a slight fuzz from the sake last night, but very little of this aching sinuses business. Why is that? You slip into the night with a flask or two and you wake up the next morning feeling better than if you hadn't. Sometimes. It doesn't seem to be consistent. Yesterday morning was uncomfortable, but the sinuses cleared by afternoon. This is the norm, bad days are usually bad in the morning. Could it be the head on the pillow allows the sinuses to, um, do something? I'm hoping for an anti-biotic solution. As opposed to other things I don't want to know about.

And other than that?

The photo session went well yesterday afternoon. We did portraits with hats, the model wearing a “wife beater” in one part of the session. A great name, “wife beater”. I learned it's the t-shirt of every man who beats his wife in a movie. I myself wear crew neck t-shirts and I don't have a history of beating women. “Wife beater”. Elicits images of small town nights and burning churches. Tennessee Williams.

What do you know about small town nights?

Tennessee Williams.

And Marlon Brando was wearing a “wife beater”?

Hell, all I remember is “Stella! Stella!” and the poster in which, I believe, he was wearing a crew neck white.

Maybe you'd better think about your literary allusions. Keep them to books you've actually read and plays you've actually seen (within the last twenty years).

Still a perfect name for a t-shirt, though.

The photograph was taken at a photo session in Emeryville with a Nikon D2x mounted with a 17-55mm 2.8 Nikkor lens at 1/60th second, f 5.0, ISO 100.
