A photo session in Emeryville.

March 28th, 2006

Interesting
Tuesday. OK. Rumor is IT management has been given 30 days to come up with a complete reorganization plan and they will then have 90 days to implement it. No comment on what IT is tasked to accomplish or how many dollars they'll have to do it. My guess is quite a few less than we've had in the past with more than a few jobs in the balance, but there's no way to tell and no benefit in thinking about it. The time frame seems odd, though. They are looking for a new CIO. Wouldn't they want a new CIO to sign off on the plan? Be the driving force in creating it since he or she will be the one to make it work? Perhaps that's why I'm a troop out in the trenches unable to grasp the finer points of large organization management. Comfortable though, out in the trenches.

For some reason, starting Sunday, the head has been better. Still the aching whatever, but better than it's been over the last couple of months. No complaints. They're doing a CT scan of my sinuses on Thursday and I'm assuming they'll find at least vestiges of whatever it is that's causing the problem, enough to produce a hint for a solution (one always hopes there's a solution). Then again, given how this thing has been going, it will probably flare up by Thursday and give them a proper down home and dirty picture. Life is instructive after sixty.

Rain or not, aching mouth/head/nose or not, I've been in a pretty good mood. Nice. No complaints. No reason not to repeat it.

This is an email I assume has been making the rounds for however many years. Most of these don't leave much of an impression, but I found this one interesting.

The photograph was taken at a photo session in Emeryville with a Nikon D2x mounted with a 17-55mm 2.8 Nikkor lens at 1/125th second, f 2.8, ISO 100.
