Under Construction

Anti-war protest at Oakland City Hall.

March 26, 2007

For Another Night
Sunday. Four hours at the office, but not a bad day for that.

Monday. Ominous retro grey black clouds early this morning as I was standing at the bus stop. “Well, they'll go away”, I said to myself, taking optimism further than optimism was meant to go. Thunder storms and wind this afternoon. “My, my”, thought I, watching the show from a building window. “All the work I've done over the weekend and this morning has come to naught and now the sky is falling. What should I do?”

Go home early to a heated bottle of sake and chill out.

You know my habits. I caught the three twenty-three bus in the rain, when the thunder storm had passed, and now I sit at home at my computer watching the rain from my window with the rumble of thunder in the distance. The sake we'll leave for another night.

The photograph was taken at the tail end of an anti-war rally in front of Oakland City Hall with a Nikon D2Xs mounted with a 105mm f 2.8 Nikkor VR lens at 1/1250th second, f 2.8, ISO 100.
