Things Tomorrow
Saturday. Up reasonably early, breakfast at the usual place, home now with the sky overcast, the possibility of rain in the clouds. A day for something or other, the energy seems right, the lungs, now that I've been on this new stuff the doctor prescribed, are feeling better. We'll know more I suspect in another week.
I did shoot the demonstration on March 4th in front of the Oakland City Hall, a kind of shoot I haven't really focused on in the past although I've certainly done others. I say I haven't focused in the sense I don't have a clear idea of what to look for, where to start to create photographs that will keep my interest the way the portraits at the parades have kept my interest, but I think I may have gotten an inkling with some of these. A way to proceed. Which is not a small step. Believe me.
Later. Spent the morning putting the March 4th photographs up on a Here In Oakland temp page before heading downtown on the bus for a sandwich at the City Center, a walk then half way back before hopping another bus to the apartment. Fuzzy headed tired for whatever reason and I'm up for a nap. I walked “tired”. Not the “ambling walk” I've described in the past, walking slowly, keeping my eye out for whatever with a camera in hand, but the “old man tired” walk you see sometimes on the street. My, my. Gather your pictures while you may, young man. Old man.
So take a damned nap.
Later still. Layed down for a while without getting to sleep, although the head is now clearer. Thought of going to see The Hurt Locker, maybe have a nice bag of M & M's while waiting for the movie to start, but finally said the hell with it. I think a glass of Merlot a little later in recompense, nothing on TV over the weekend, but maybe listen to the old fart's hippie station on XM radio. Relax. Take it easy. I need to reprogram here and understand it's OK if you're feeling tired to take a nap, have a glass or two and not fret out loud. Besides, there are plenty of opportunities to flake out on a long list of similar things tomorrow.
All you seem to do is fret.
Don't say that. Even if it's true, and I suspect it's closer to true than I might like, so lie. We don't need to stick our sensitive nose up out of our comfy little hole here and take in the real world when we can stick a camera out instead and shoot pictures.
