To Sleep Early

Thursday. I did turn the lights out by ten, but then took what seemed an interminable amount of time to get to sleep, sleeping in one and two hour stretches to awaken to read the clock and think here we go again. Still, awake before the alarm was set to sound at six-forty to get up and head out walking to breakfast feeling fine. Not tired, clear headed. Didn't walk back home, but caught the bus just as it was arriving at the café and so now sitting here after working over yesterday's entry. Written by an idiot, a not very bright and lazy idiot, who then posted the damned thing well before it was done.

Still, how many times have we admitted to exactly that? I obviously don't give a damn or else I'd clean up my act. So, as Oat Willie said: Onward through the fog. There seems to be more and more of it as we waddle along.

Speak for yourself, old man. The rest of us have everything under control.

Right. Of course. I can tell.

Later. A walk over to the apartment house construction site to take pictures, thinking maybe I'd catch the bus downtown when it came along, deciding instead to walk over to the lake to see what might be going on there before heading to the 7-11 look-alike to, well, decide at the last minute to return to the apartment, maybe get a cup of coffee at the café across from the construction site as they have tables out front on the sidewalk. Didn't stop for coffee, but kept on walking home.

I'd taken a dose of the pain meds this morning with the other morning meds, something I'd been doing routinely in the past. Felt fine when I was setting out, but wondered if taking them would cause the mid to late morning to change for the better when they took effect. Might be so as I've felt pretty good, the sinuses and upper palate still there, but not really acting up. So we'll think about that.

Similarly with the pill the cardiologist prescribed last month at my annual checkup. Said they've been known to eliminate ocular migraines in some cases (he being one). It's prescribed for blood pressure control, but it's an older medication and, in his words, essentially doesn't work worth a damn for blood pressure, but has had some success with the migraines (both regular and ocular). And they seem to have had success with me. Deedle-dee-dee. So good indeed.

Nice day, shirt sleeve temperatures, some clouds, but mostly sun. Don't feel like going downtown for lunch, but maybe go out later if I can figure out a way to trick myself into it. Odd way to think about it, but it seems to be true. Trick in order to treat. Or something similar.

Later still. A couple of days now that I've been spending more than an hour on the guitar. We'll leave it at that, but I've lined up a list of songs I'd like to memorize, just to see if doing it might keep my interest in learning to play. Nuff said (he said).

Evening. More of The Good Wife on the tablet. Many of these things start well and then dribble off as you get into the season and this one has a number of seasons. Still, a good start so far.

A good day straight through I'd have to say. Let's see how we do tomorrow. Midsomer Murders is coming up at eight and I'm thinking I'll probably have seen it before and will decide I don't need to see it again, but who knows? If not we'll get to bed and (one would hope) to sleep early.

The photo up top was taken Saturday at the forming up of the Saint Patrick's Day Parade with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
