I'll Try

Tuesday. And so to bed last night fairly early to watch various things on the tablet before turning out the lights by ten and getting what I'm guessing was a decent night's sleep. The evening routine, except, I guess, for the decent night's sleep. Not something we get as routinely as we might like.

Awake and up ten minutes before the alarm to head out to breakfast. Overcast, but no sign of rain, some wetness to the street where it was dry under overhanging trees and where cars had been parked, so maybe some rain last night. Anyway, a walk to and back from breakfast to then start the laundry, not because I wanted to, but because I had to, down to our last few clean sets of clothes. For something that doesn't take all that much effort or time there's still a fight. And more commenting about it here. Oh dear.

Anyway, for saying I'd had a long night's rest I still feel tired, slow and not up for going outside. Which is fine as the laundry still has another hour to run in the drier. Two washers, one drier. Be better if we had two of each.

Later. The laundry done by noon, everything folded and hung but the socks which still sit loose in the hamper. I get to the socks later in the afternoons, part of the laundry routine. Still overcast, still quite tired, spent much of the time between laundry room visits lying on the bed listening to the radio. Part of the package as we get older.

A bus then to the morning restaurant thinking I didn't want to walk (the feeling tired thing), although getting outside seems to clear the head. Lunch (grilled cheese sandwich, potato salad and lemonade) and then a walk back to the apartment, stopping by the lakeside white column pergola, deepening my understanding of old guys you often see sitting out on benches. But we're venting.

Still overcast at three, but feeling better as often happens in the afternoons and then into the evenings. Nothing I can see coming up later on television tonight, but that's usually the case in the middle of the week. So we'll take another look at the tablet.

I am way behind on posting the recent mind numbing apartment house construction site photographs. Probably a good project to pick up when your brain is fried.

Evening. Finished the January apartment house photographs and posted them to HereInOakland and artandlife. For the first time I noticed the artandlife heading for January was reading January 2014 instead of 2015, some three or four January sections posted earlier all had the wrong date. The file names included the right date, but I'd somehow put together a January heading displaying the wrong year and hadn't noticed until now. That one is harder to fathom. Ah, well.

Nothing on television, nothing I'm willing to look at again on the tablet, maybe get in a little guitar and then to bed and to sleep early tonight. Which I doubt will actually happen, but I'll try.

The photo up top was taken at the Oakland Running Festival with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
