Afternoon
Sunday. We are slowing down, slowly fortunately, but clearly the mind is forgetting the names of various things more often, the head is every so slightly more woozy/dizzy/whatever and writing coherently here is ever more a problem. Still, I've been keeping a routine and at least getting out walking to take the occasional picture no more or less obsessively than I was when walking home from breakfast in Oakland.
Up this morning at six-thirty to go down to the kitchen to have Raisin Bran, orange juice, coffee and a banana for breakfast, spacing out when opening the orange juice and starting to pour it into the cereal bowl instead of the glass. A first and hopefully the last time I'll be doing that. OK, pour milk into the cereal bowl, pour orange juice into its glass, eat Raisin Bran for the first time in a mixture of orange juice and milk, not something I'd recommend after having tasted it.
Back to lie down on the bed and listen to the news for an hour before getting up and taking the blood pressure. It's been running high in the mornings. I'd started taking the full daily dose of the blood pressure med at six forty-five when I get up to see if it wouldn't lower it in the later mornings and hopefully through and into the afternoons and have still been finding it high, but this morning it was pretty much normal.
I've also been noticing the blood pressure seems to go down after a walk and so set out for my twenty minute walk through the neighborhood not long after ten, the weather people saying rain at noon through two and so figured I'd get it done while it was clear.
Took the walk, took some of the usual pictures, arrived back home and lied down on the bed to listen to news again, taking the blood pressure half an hour later. It had dropped almost fifteen points from good to really excellent (96/61, 101/60, 104/59) from the earlier morning readings (116/67, 122/70, 115/68). Go figure. We'll go over this when I meet with my doctor for the first time next month, we will.
And that's been about it. Had the second COVID booster shot last Wednesday, still have to make a DMV appointment to get the car registered which will also establish residency so I can vote in the upcoming mid-term election. Progress. Too slow, but progress is progress.
Later. Watched the Angels-Athletics game on the tablet to pretty much finish out the afternoon.
